Global Investment Rules

How they threaten communities and the environment, and how we can change them

This pamphlet offers readers the basics: it serves as an introduction to how trade agreements and investment treaties give foreign investors sweeping new powers, and how secretive arbitration tribunals (organized through institutions like the World Bank) act as the enforcers.  It also includes brief stories from current campaigns where communities are fighting corporate attacks on their environment and economic sovereignty.  Finally, it outlines some of the options for change that movements for economic and environmental justice can support.
